Lot 282. 18 F5 Dixie Premiums, 1933-53 – Jackie Cooper, Diver Georgia Coleman, Sonja Henie, Etc. Dixie Ice Cream issued an interesting and mostly attractive array of premiums from 1933-54. These 18 premiums are all different. The 1933 and 1934 premiums were black & white with blank backs and without punch holes. In 1935, color fronts, informational black & white backs and the use of punch holes became standard. 1933: Jackie Cooper, trimmed to 8” x 10”, two punch holes added; otherwise vg+. 1934: Wheeler & Woolsey, trimmed to 8” x 10”, four punch holes added; otherwise vg+. 1936: Claudette Colbert, holes re-punched and a tear at one; otherwise vg. 1937: Freddie Bartholomew, punch holes reinforced; otherwise vg. Diving Star Georgia Coleman, who won a gold and silver medal at the 1932 Olympics, vg+. Fred MacMurray, several pin holes; otherwise vg. Robert Taylor, spiral-bound punch holes, g. 1938: Don Ameche, punch holes reinforced; otherwise vg+. Warner Baxter, punch holes reinforced; otherwise vg. Bobby Breen, g-vg. Sonja Henie, two tears in the left border; otherwise vg-ex. 1939: George O’Brien, punch holes reinforced; otherwise vg+. 1941: Helen Parrish, pin holes; otherwise vg+. 1942: All have their upper corners clipped and are without punch holes.
