Lot 140. 11 Vintage B&W Football Photos and 75+ Additional Color Football Images. These photos range from 7” x 9” to 8” x 10”. Two early photos, from Cal-Pictures and dated 1950 and 1952 respectively, show San Francisco Giants quarterback Frankie Albert. In the first, Albert wears No. 63, and in the second. No. 13. Albert wore No. 63 from 1946-51 and switched to No. 13 in 1952. Both photos have editing marks and are vg; the 1952 photo has multiple emulsion cracks. Another photo from 1950 shows the same condition and depicts Michigan University’s Chuck Ortmann on a train. Ortmann played professionally for Pittsburgh and the Dallas Texans. The New England Patriot’s Gino Cappelletti and Ross O’Hanley are the subject of a 1962 photo from the files of “Sport.” Nm. In a 1964 Wide World photo, Minnesota’s Paul Dickerson tackles Baltimore’s Lydell Mitchell. Ex. The other photos show: Cappelletti making a diving catch, 1963, “Sport,” vg+ to ex. Dick Modzelewski, posed action, 1966, “Sport,” ex. Mercury Morris, two, one in Browns game and the other in a Bills game, 1970 and 1971, UPI wire photos from the files of “Sport,” nm. Larry Little of the Dolphins in an undated photo, and an updated photo from “Sport’s” files featuring University of Texas game action. Nm. Also, an 8” x 10” color reproduction photo of Bob Hayes and Mike Ditka. These photos are accompanied by more than 75 magazine photos showing such stars as Johnny Unitas, Joe Namath, Roman Gabriel and Bart Starr.
