This 19.5” x 25.5” framed display consists of a 12” x 16.75” color photo of the 1955 World Champions and the complete poem by Moore, titled “Hometown Piece for Messrs. Alston and Reese.” At the time, Moore was regarded as one of the most important living U.S. poets. In 1951, her “Collected Poems” received the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. Her Dodgers poem apparently came as something of a surprise to her literary friends. It honors the Dodgers for their World Series success. Nm.
