Lot 2. Carmen Basilio Autographed July 1956 “Police Gazette.” A member of the Hall of Fame, Basilio was one of the toughest boxers ever to enter the ring. He twice held the welterweight title in the mid-1950s. In one of the greatest and most brutal matches ever, he wrested the middle- weight crown from Sugar Ray Robinson. His signature is a 10 on the cover of the magazine, which is vg with somewhat brittle paper. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
