Lot 108. Johnny Podres Autographed 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers World Champs Display. On a 7” x 9” photo that shows him celebrating with teammates after the Dodgers captured the World Championship, Podres wrote: “Who’s a Bum, Oct. 4, 1955” and then signed his name. The photo is matted and framed with Willard Mullin’s “Bum” and the front page of the Oct. 5, 1955 New York “Daily News.” The headline exclaims “Who’s a Bum!” Podres pitched a shutout in Game 7 against the Yankees. He also won Game 2 and was named the Series’ MVP. His autograph, authenticated by Kevin Keating, is nm 7 to nm-m 8. The newspaper exhibits some wrinkles. The various pieces are matted and framed to 17” x 21” and ready for display.
