Lot 173. Al Campanis Autographed ONL William White Baseball. Campanis was part of the Dodgers organization for more than 40 years. As a shortstop, he was Jackie Robinson’s double-play partner in Montreal. As a scout, he signed Roberto Clemente for the Dodgers. But in a 1987 TV interview, as vice president of player personnel for LA, he made a racial remark, and his Dodgers career was over. His signature is mint 9 on ball that has a couple of spots of light discoloration, one behind part of his sweet spot autograph. Campanis died in 1998. He played in seven games for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1943. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
