Lot 168. Ted Williams Autographed Original 1946 International News Photo. The 8” x 10” b&w photo captures Williams scoring after rapping his third home run on a day in which he went four-for-five and drove in eight runs. These heroics by the 27-year-old star enabled the Red Sox to edge Cleveland, 11-10. A tack hole is in each of the upper corners, and the photo has corner creases, a vertical crease in the left border and “alligatoring” that is evident at certain angles to the light. The year and game information are written in the lower border. The caption is present. Williams’ autograph is large and bold, nm-m 8 to mint 9.
