Lot 243. 11 Photos Signed by Pittsburgh’s 1974-77 “Steel Curtain” Defense – All on Plaques. This collection of 8” x 10” color photos will make a tremendous display in a game or family room or a bar. For many years, it dramatically occupied a wall in our consignor’s game room. Each autographed photo is mounted on a 10.5” x 13” plaque that has the player’s name and uniform number. The defensive lineup for 1974-77 featured Joe Greene, Ernie Holmes, L. C. Greenwood and Dwight White on the line, Andy Russell, Jack Lambert and Jack Ham at linebacker, Mel Blount and J. T. Thomas at cornerback, Mike Wagner at weak safety and Donnie Shell at strong safety. Four of these players are in the Pro Hall of Fame, and a strong case can be made for several others. Thomas is an infrequent signer. The signatures of Greenwood and Holmes are nm-m 8 to mint 9, and the others are mint 9 or gem mint 10. Authenticated by Kevin Keating. Impressive!
