Lot 119. 55+ Dodgers Publications – Programs, Yearbooks, “SI,” Etc. John signed one publication, the Feb. 1973 “Vero Beach Press Journal” “Dodger Edition.” His autograph on the front of the 12-page special section is a 10 of 10. The collection includes World Series programs for 1978 and 1981 (2), vg+ to ex. The Dodgers faced the Yankees in both Series. Three NLCS programs are for 1977 and 1978 vs. the Phils, ex-m, and 1988 vs. the Mets (no back cover). Yearbooks represent 1974 (3) vg+ to ex, 1973 (3) ex-m, 1983 vg-ex and 1990 vg+ to ex. There are 19 regular-season programs and one from spring training: 1972, Astros, Cardinals (2 different, one partially scored), Cubs, Giants (2 diff., one neatly scored and one partially scored FOR A GAME PITCHED BY JOHN), Padres and Pirates, vg-ex. 1973, Astros (partially scored for a game pitched by JOHN), Braves, Cubs, Giants (four pages missing including the scorecard), Mets (four pages missing including the scorecard) and Reds (2), ex. 1976, Expos (scored for a game pitched by JOHN), ex. 1984, Reds (scored), ex. 1990, Cards (Robinson cover), ex. 1992, Padres, vg. 1976 spring training, g-vg. Other Dodger-issued publications include a 1990 calendar vg-ex, a 1983 “Blue Book” ex-m, 1976 and 1977 (2) Photo Albums ex, season ticket promotions for 1974 (2) ex-m, the April 1986 “Dodgers Alumni News” vg, a 1993 “Tribute to Roy Campanella and Don Drysdale” vg-ex and media guides for 1972 (no cover), 1974 vg-ex, 1978 vg+ to ex and 1996 ex-m+. There also are posters for 1974 “Poster Day” with Sutton, Russell, Ferguson and Davey Lopes (3, two vg-ex, one torn and otherwise vg) and a 1990 Dodgers’ All-Star poster. Dodgers are on the covers of a number of periodicals: Sandy Koufax, Aug. 2, 1963 “Life,” vg+ to ex; Bill Russell and Claude Osteen (2) on the Aug. 20, 1973 “Sports Illustrated” (no labels, one ex-m, one with writing); Mike Marshall on the Aug. 12, 1974 “SI,” ex-m, and Koufax on the July 12, 1999 “SI,” g-vg; Steve Garvey, Oct. 1977 “Baseball Digest,” ex, and various Dodgers, Oct. 22, 1977 “Sporting News,” vg. In addition, the Oct. 1982 “Playgirl” features Steve Yeager as the celebrity centerfold, ex-m. These publications come with four signed “Property of Tommy John” labels.
