Lot 262. Vintage Jack Dempsey Autograph on a Menu from His Broadway Restaurant. Nm-m 8 to mint 9 steel-tipped pen autograph on the menu cover, which has Dempsey’s image and the logo for the 1939-40 World’s Fair in New York. Kevin Keating authenticated the signature. Dempsey was world heavyweight champion from 1919-26. ESPN selected him as the ninth greatest boxer of all time. He is a member of the Boxing Hall of Fame. After he retired, he operated the famous New York restaurant. He passed away in 1983. The signature on Dempsey’s image on the menu is a facsimile. He signed just above “Supper.”
