Lot 333. Nomar Garciaparra ’53 Lithograph by Bill Purdom. The artist autographed the print, numbered 119 of 600 and is part of a 1999 Bill Goff series. Purdom’s portrait of the star shortstop is done in the style of Topps’ 1953 baseball cards. Carefully rolled, the 18” x 25” print is nm-m to mint. The 1997 Rookie of the Year, Garciaparra put up Hall of Fame numbers before being slowed with injuries. A six-time All-Star, he batted .313 for his career with 229 home runs and 936 RBI. In 2005, he saved the lives to two women who had fallen into Boston Harbor near his home.
