Lot 179. Marshall Goldberg (College HoF, NFL Cardinals) Autographed 8” x 10” B&W Photo. Goldberg is one of the better halfbacks not enshrined at Canton. At the University of Pittsburgh, he led the Panthers to back-to-back national championships in 1936 and 1937. He played for the Chicago Cardinals Cardinals from 1939–43 and 1946-48 and helped them to win the NFL Championship in 1947. He lost two seasons to World War II. In 2007, he and Emmitt Thomas were selected by the Pro HoF Seniors Committee as finalists for the Class of 2008. He wa snot selected for the class, however. Goldberg is in the West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Pop Warner Halls of Fame and the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. He died in 2006. His signature is a beautiful gem mint 10 authenticated by Kevin Keating.
