Lot 251. 1950 Brooklyn at New York Program. Ex+ 20-page program for an early July series has a number of racial barrier breakers in the pre-printed lineup, including Jackie Robinson for the Dodgers and Monte Irvin and Hank Thompson for the Giants. Thompson was the first African-American to play for the St. Louis Browns, and on July 8, 1949, he and Irvin became the Giants’ first black players. Manager Leo Durocher is pictured in the program.
