Lot 280. Pedro Guerrero and Brian Downing Endorsed Bats and a Scarce Jim Napier Bat. The early 1960s 34” Hillerich & Bradsby Napier bat is especially scarce and obscure. He spent his entire career, which spanned 1958-86, in the minors as a catcher and manager, primarily in the Chicago White Sox organization. He coached in the minors also for the Cubs and the Indians. The bat has a cracked handle and strong engravings. The 35” Brian Downing model from Worth has a badly cracked handle. Louisville Slugger manufactured the 34” early 1980s Guerrero bat, which has his name on the barrel, as well as “Braves,” and “Wills” written on the knob. Cracked, strong engravings.
