 Lot 165. 26 Different 1957-58 Topps Basketball Cards Including Stars. All of these cards show evidence of some water damage. On two, the effects are barely noticeable: #78 Lovellette (HoF) rookie and 79. These two cards are vg-ex. Eight others show light to moderate water damage: #54 (single print-SP), 56, 67 (SP), 68, 70 (SP), 72 (SP), 74 (SP, rookie) and 75 Phillip (HoF, SP). These eight cards are g-vg overall. The effects are more pronounced on #50 (SP), 52, 55, 57-61 (4 SP), 62 Gallatin (HoF) rookie, 63-66 (1 SP), 71 Twyman (HoF) rookie, 73 and 80 (SP). These 16 cards average f-g. The 26 cards constitute almost one-third of the set.

 Lot 166. Early 1900s Cabinet Photo of a Girl’s Basketball Team. Not long after James Naismith invented the game, these five young women posed for this photo with a leather-laces basketball. The 3 ½” x 5 ½” photo from a Gaylord, MN, studio shows a couple of small scuffs and otherwise is ex on a 6” x 8” mount that has corner wear and is free of creases. Rare early photo of a woman’s basketball team.
