Ripken’s record-breaking 2,131st game is covered on the front page of the Sept. 7, 1995 issue of “The Sun” of Baltimore; full newspaper, nm. The newspaper also produced a special “Stadium Extra” the day before with the headline “2131: Cal stands alone.” This page is reproduced on a limited edition metal plate, about 13 ¼” x 23”, #220 of 2131, and ex-m. The paper also produced the 1995, 96 page softcover “Cal Touches Home,” nm-m. The Orioles also provide coverage of Ripken’s consecutive-game streak in a video (VHS) titled “2131: Cal’s Moment in Time,” unused and mint, and “Cal Ripken Jr Official Commemorative,” a 104-page extensively illustrated softcover book by Stephanie Parrillo, nm. Ripken’s consecutive-game streak ended at 2,632, an event given front-page coverage in the Sept. 23-29, 1998 “Baseball Weekly,” vg+ to ex. Another key event, Ripken’s 3,000th hit, is commemorated in this collection with two tickets from the April 15, 2000 game at Minnesota and two Certificates of Authenticity designed to hold the tickets.
