Lot 135. 4 University of Maryland Yearbooks – 1938-40, 1951. The earlier yearbooks contain 6-14 pages of text and photos on football and four on basketball. Typical of much of its athletic history, Maryland had greater success on the court than on the gridiron in these years. The 1951 yearbook has 17 pages devoted to the 1950 football season, which was one of the Terps’ more successful. Loaded with future College Hall of Fame players, the team posted a 7-2-1 record. Eventual HoF players on the team were Dick Modzelewski, Stan Jones, Jack Scarbath and Bob Ward. Ed Modzelewski also was a member of the squad. The yearbooks are ex-m and better.
