Lot 71. New York Yankees Programs and Yearbooks, 1956-97. Five of seven programs are for: 1956 vs. Boston, scored and vg-ex; 1960 vs. Dodgers, June 27 exhibition game, scored and ex; 1961 vs. Senators, scored, minor writing on cover, otherwise ex. 1961 vs. Orioles, vg-ex, and 1961 vs. Senators, vg. Four of these programs are signed on the cover by Joe Dugan, and one by George McQuinn. Dugan, who passed away in 1982, played third base for the Yankees in the 1920s. McQuinn died in 1978; he played first base for New York in 1947 and 1948. The two other programs are for 1973, four inside pages missing, and 1997 vs. the Mets, vg-ex. The earliest of the yearbooks, from 1966, has a section of the front cover missing; on the opposite side, a coupon was removed for ordering Jay Publishing photos. Otherwise, it has a vg+ appearance with writing on six inside pages, including an entry that has the Yanks winning the 1960 World Series. The three other yearbooks are nm-m, one from 1990 and two from 1992. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research, a non-profit membership organization open to all that fosters the research, preservation, and dissemination of the history and record of baseball.
