Lot 67.  3 1930s Boston Bees (Braves) Programs. Boston’s National League team was known as the Bees from 1936-40, and as the Braves before and after. These 12-page scorecards are vg-ex to ex, 12 pages and neatly scored. The Bees’ 1936 opponent was Pittsburgh, and the 1937 opponents, New York and Chicago. Stars who appeared in these games are Vince DiMaggio, Paul and Lloyd Waner, Vaughan, Ott, Herman and Hack.

Lot 68.  19 Minor League 1940s-50s and 1970s-80s Programs and Annuals Plus Autographs. The earliest program represents the 1941 Indianapolis Indians. Vg-ex with the year and other writing on the cover. Johnny Pesky was on the roster for Louisville. Other Indianapolis programs are for 1982 and 1983 (5) and average ex+; some are scored. The 1982 program is autographed by Steve Christmas and Dallas Williams. Autographs in the 1983 programs include S (Skeeter) Barnes, Willie Lozado, Mark Gilbert, John Franco, Brett Wise, Bill Landrum, Orlando Isales, Curt Heidenreich and John Harris. There also is a 1983 program for the Clearwater Phillies and two for the 1983 Louisville Redbirds; ex+. The annuals are the Erie Pro-Baseball Record Book (1890-1954), the 1983 American Association All-Time Records & Highlights and the National Association of Professional Baseball League’s annual – Baseball ’77 and Baseball ’81 through Baseball ’87, nm+. There also are schedules for the 1983 Indians (2), 1983 Tampa Tarpons and 1982 Orlando Twins (2). Autographs authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 69.  2 1950s and 2 1960s Scorecards or Programs – Indians, Phils, Colt .45s and Tigers. The best of the bunch is a 52-page program from the Colt .45s inaugural season (1962) vs. Milwaukee. Vg-ex with many photos. The other scorecards are: 1954, Yankees at Indians, scored in pencil, vertically folded, vg, has an ad for a Chief Wahoo bank for $2.25. Comes with a g-vg Aug. 3 rain check. 1954, Reds at Phils, scored in pencil, Robin Roberts profiled, vg+ to ex. 1963, Angels at Tigers, g-vg.

Lot 70.  1955 Pirates Yearbook with Clemente (Rookie), Other Yearbooks, Programs, Etc. This yearbook got it right when it wrote of Roberto Clemente: “The Pirates drafted him…and may have picked up a real prize. Only 20, he has everything but experience, and his success in the majors appears only a question of time.” Clemente shares page 20 of the 48-page yearbook with Preston Ward. G+ to vg, spine rubbed but not split, vg+ to ex pages with writing on one (not Clemente’s). The other yearbooks are from 1968 vg+ to ex, 1993 (2), one ex+ and one nm+, and 1994 (2), both nm-m. The programs represent 1974 vs. LA, neatly scored and vg+ to ex; 1975 vs. the Cubs, v+ and signed on the cover by Bill Mazeroski, Chuck Tanner and Steve Blass, and 1976, scorecard absent. Also, a 1976 Pirates media guide, vg, and three 1979 World Series media guides vs. the Orioles, two scored for at least one game, vg-ex. The 1955 yearbook turns up relatively infrequently. Lot 71.  New York Yankees Programs and Yearbooks, 1956-97. Five of seven programs are for: 1956 vs. Boston, scored and vg-ex; 1960 vs. Dodgers, June 27 exhibition game, scored and ex; 1961 vs. Senators, scored, minor writing on cover, otherwise ex. 1961 vs. Orioles, vg-ex, and 1961 vs. Senators, vg. Four of these programs are signed on the cover by Joe Dugan, and one by George McQuinn. Dugan, who passed away in 1982, played third base for the Yankees in the 1920s. McQuinn died in 1978; he played first base for New York in 1947 and 1948. The two other programs are for 1973, four inside pages missing, and 1997 vs. the Mets, vg-ex. The earliest of the yearbooks, from 1966, has a section of the front cover missing; on the opposite side, a coupon was removed for ordering Jay Publishing photos. Otherwise, it has a vg+ appearance with writing on six inside pages, including an entry that has the Yanks winning the 1960 World Series. The three other yearbooks are nm-m, one from 1990 and two from 1992. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research, a non-profit membership organization open to all that fosters the research, preservation, and dissemination of the history and record of baseball.

Lot 72.  1962 N.Y. Mets Program, 1964 and 1965 Yearbooks, Other Publications. The 24-page 1962 program has a small hole in the front cover, is scored for a game vs. the Dodgers and otherwise is vg-ex. A 1966 program also is scored for a Dodgers game and is vg-ex. The 1964 yearbook has game-related writing on the Willard Mullin cover; otherwise, this revised edition is ex. The 1965 yearbook, apparently the first edition, is vg-ex. Also, three Mets newsletters, July 24, 1965 Old Timers Day, 1965 There’s More to the Mets than Mets the Eye and July 8, 1967 (Vol. 1 No. 1) Mets Oldtimer Gazette, vg+ to ex+. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research.

Lot 73.  1973 World Series Program – Oakland Athletics at New York Mets. Yogi Berra is on the cover of this ex-m program, which has a ¼” circular white sticker in the upper right corner.

Lot 74.  About 500 Full Tickets from Atlanta’s 1982 N.L. Western Division Title Season. These tickets, which average nm, are for games on April 27 (70 tickets) and April 28 (145) vs. Pittsburgh, June 23 (70) vs. Los Angeles, July 5 (65) vs. Chicago and Sept. 14 (75) and 15 (70) vs. Houston. The count is approximate. As many as 10 tickets have writing on the back. Besides the tickets, there are five stubs. The Braves split these six games. Nolan Ryan was the winning pitcher in the Sept. 15 game. These tickets have excellent break-up value, especially at our

Lot 200.  Brooklyn Dodgers 1951, 1953 and 1954 Yearbooks, 1954 Program, 1955 History. All three yearbooks have Willard Mullin Brooklyn Bum artwork on their covers. The 1953 yearbook introduces rookies Jim Gilliam and Johnny Podres. The number “35” is written in ink on the front, and the back cover has two chips out of it and a 3 ½” split along the spine; the pages inside are vg+ to ex. The 1954 edition pictures newcomers Sandy Amoros, Don Hoak, Don Zimmer and Tom Lasorda. G-vg covers with tape along the spine, a ½” edge tear on the front and a chip out of the back. The pages are vg+ to ex with a folio of four pages loose. The 1951 yearbook has the owner’s name in a label on the front cover and a child’s writing on almost every page. The 1954 program is scored vs. Pittsburgh and vg-ex. A softcover publication Brooklyn Dodgers: This IS Next Year by Tot Holmes, 1995, ex, provides a history of the 1955 season in 108 pages. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research.

Lot 201.  1953 Brooklyn Dodgers Yearbook with Rookies Jim Gilliam and Johnny Podres. Vg-ex copy (½” spine split) with Willard Mullin artwork on the cover. Rookies Jim Gilliam and Johnny Podres are pictured, as well as such established stars as Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese and Carl Furillo. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research.
