Lot 75.  1924 Reach Official American League Base Ball Guide. More than 550 pages of baseball information focusing on the 1924 season. Vg guide with the cover taped along the spine and showing multiple chips. Except for the first 10 and the last 20, the pages are vg-ex.

Lot 76.  23 Baseball Annuals – Who’s Who (Baseball Magazine and Carmichael), TSN, Etc. Two issues of Who’s Who in the Major Leagues, 1937 edited by Speed Johnson and 1950 edited by John Carmichael, lead this parade of annuals. Both copies are hardbacks without dust jackets; the 1937 edition grades vg, and the 1950, vg with a 1” chip at the top of the spine. Eight issues of Who’s Who in Baseball from Baseball Magazine are included: 1970, 1973, 1975 and 1977-81; they average vg. The earliest publication is the 1943 Baseball Guide from The Sporting News; this is the Radio Version, and it grades f with substantial tape on the cover. Other Guides are for 1970, 1974 and 1981, and grade ex to ex-m. Other TSN products are Baseball Record Books for 1980-82, ex overall; the 1977 World Series Records, vg, and the Arch McDonald Official 1942 Baseball Book, g-vg. Also, Baseball Stars of 1971 by Ray Robinson, vg; 1971 Illustrated Digest of Baseball, f-g; the 1974 Sportscene Computerized Baseball Guide, vg+ to ex, and the 1978 Baseball Guide by Snibbe Publications, nm.

Lot 77.  TSN Registers (First Issue), Guides, Record Books, Daguerreotypes, Yearbooks. Sporting News collection of 38 publications spanning 1937-90. The earliest are the 1937 and 1939 Record Books, writing on the covers, vg contents. The inaugural issue from 1940 heads a list of six Baseball Registers. The first issue, with Ty Cobb on the cover, grades vg and has the year written on the spine and some tape. Four other issues, from 1958-61, average ex. The 1964 edition is hardbound and ex. The other hardcover is the 1981 Daguerreotypes of Great Stars of Baseball. This 320-page publication has photos and major and minor league records of stars ranging from Aaron to Zernial. Nm book and dust jacket. Paperback versions of this publication from 1951, 1958 and 1961 are g-vg with the date written on the cover. Baseball Guides are from 1945 (p, incomplete), 1947 (p-f, no back cover) and 1958 (Williams, vg-ex, small amount of tape on spine); also, 1971 and 1976-80, average ex. The TSN Baseball Yearbooks for 1981-90 average nm. Other publications are the 1979 Record Book (p+ to f), Tom Seaver’s Scouting Notebook for 1989 and Official American and National League Schedules and Records for 1973, 1979-81 and 1983, ex to nm.

Lot 78.  4 TSN Promotional Baseball Guides and a 1963 TSN Baseball Record Book. TSN prepared Baseball Guides for Busch Bavarian Beer in 1959 and 1960 and Baseball Guide & Record Books for Tareyton cigarettes in 1961 and 1962. Each publication contains 160 pages and follows a format similar to the 1963 Record Book. These guides are unusually nice, averaging ex-m and residing in their original mailing envelopes.

Lot 79.  Baseball Hall of Fame Publications, Periodicals, All-Star Ballots, Etc. This collection includes the 1963 and 1974 editions of The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. These softcovers provide baseball and HoF history and reproduce the plaques of the enshrinees. Both issues are ex; the 1963 edition has a date written on the front cover, and the 1974 edition has foxing on the front cover, primarily at the left, and some stains on the back cover. The 1983 HoF yearbook is nm. Other HoF items are a vivid self-stick postcard, nm, and a copy of “Casey at the Bat,” ex-m. The other magazine-format publications, both from 1977, are All Time Baseball Greats, ex, and Sports Hall of Fame Baseball, vg. There also are 33 Gillette All-Star ballots: 1973 (3), 1973, 1974 (2), 1976 (3), 1977 (2), 1978 (3), 1980 (7), 1983 (8) and 1984 (4). Most are ex-m or better and unpunched. There also are programs for the 1981 and 1982 Ohio Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies; nm-m. The 1982 program is autographed by Lew Fonseca beneath his photo; the signature grades gem mint 10. Autograph authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 80.  20+ Baseball Guides, Registers and Other Annuals. The Sporting News published issues of the Baseball Register for 1970 (Seaver cover), 1972 (Torre), 1973, 1982 (2), 1984 and 1985, and the Baseball Guide for 1970 (McCovey and Killebrew), 1972 (2), 1977 and 1981 (Carlton). The Registers average vg+. The 1977 Guide is g+ to vg, and the others are ex to ex-m. Other titles include Major League Baseball 1974 and 1976, Major League Baseball 1966 by Jack Zanger, Patton’s 1990 Fantasy Baseball Price Guide, The Scouting Report: 1990 by John Dewan, Official Major League Baseball Record Book, 1972 Edition, the World Series Encyclopedia (2) by Don Schiffer, Bruce Weber’s Inside Baseball 1988 and Baseball’s Hot New Stars by Bill Gutman. Additionally, the May 1994 issue of Boys’ Life focuses on “Super Sluggers.” These publications average vg-ex.
