Lot 55. RC Cola 1977 Partial Set of Cans, 1978 Starter Set, 1979 Phillies Canada Dry, Etc. All of these cans are opened on top. Generally, they are vg to vg-ex. Many exhibit soiling and some rust, typically around the bottom rim. Almost all are free of any significant dents. There are a few beer cans and 150 soda cans, 140 from RC. For 1977, 57 of 70 cans are present, including Brett, Brock, Carew, Fingers, Hunter, Morgan, Munson, Palmer, Rose, Schmidt, Seaver, Sutton and Yastrzemski. Key missing cans are Bench, Perez and Yount. Thirty-five cans (of 100) are present for 1978, including #1 Sutton, 7 Morgan, 15 Munson, 36 Seaver, 45 Palmer, 50 Gossage, 71 Carlton, 77 Rice, 82 Jackson, 83 McCovey, 89 Niekro and 93 Ryan. There also are five 1979 Canada Dry Phillies including Luzinski and Schmidt, a Coca-Cola can offering a $2 discount on a Mets ticket, three 1980 Casey’s Lager Beer cans, one with Ashburn, one with Snider and one with Ford, and a Miller’s Lite can with the “Ryan’s Express to Cooperstown.” This lot may not be returned for any reason. Proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit the Society for American Baseball Research.
