Lot 98. Bob Feller Signed Hall of Fame Black & White Plaque Postcard. Feller often is overlooked in discussions of the game’s greats. Ignoring him, however, requires overlooking the fact that he missed three full seasons and most of another to World War II – in the prime of his career. In the five seasons on both sides of his WWII absence, Feller averaged 24+ wins and 262 strikeouts. Another 95 or so wins and 1,000 strikeouts would put him in the top 7 or 8 all-time among pitchers. Then, the discussion might be a bit different. Feller’s signature is a 9-10 at the bottom of the postcard. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
