Lot 131. Autograph of George H. Allen, Hall of Fame Coach, on a 1966 Newspaper Photo. Allen was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002 based on his success as a coach with the Los Angeles Rams and Washington Redskins. In the 5” x 6” b&w newspaper photo, Allen is pictured in his first season with the Rams. He transformed the team into title contenders. In 1972, he took the Redskins to the Super Bowl. He retired with the third best winning percentage among NFL coaches, and his teams never had a losing season. Allen passed away in 1990, His signature on the newspaper photo is a bold, unimprovable gem mint 10. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
