Lot 265. Circa 1910 L3 Large Leather “National Flags” Premium Featuring Austria. This hide-shaped premium, about 9 ¾” x 11”, uses the same artwork as the S30 silks. The flag is embossed, as is “Austria” inside a decorative banner and “177” inside a pentagon. The leather for this premium remains supple. At one time, the premium apparently was stitched to fabric, and there are regular stitch holes around the perimeter that do little to detract for the premium’s overall appearance. There is a crease through the flag. Attractive and scarce example for a type collection.
