Lot 140. Rare 1951 Ink Blotter Featuring “The 25 Year All America Football Team.” The All America Board of Football, headed by Christy Walsh, selected the team from players active 1925-50. The players are Bennie Oosterbaan of Michigan, Biggie Munn of Minnesota, Jay Berwanger, the first Heisman winner, of Chicago, Ernie Nevers of Stanford, Bruiser Kinard of Mississippi, Red Grange of Illinois, Doc Blanchard of Army, Johnny Lujack of Notre Dame, Don Hutson of Alabama, Bob Suffridge of Tennessee, Ed Widseth of Minnesota and Chuck Bednarik of Penn. The 3 7/8” x 9” blotter is unused and uncreased except for a tiny corner crease. It shows some foxing, almost completely away from the players. Printed by Brown & Bigelow, the blotter promotes ReDisCo’s Service, an appliance financing company that served retailers.
