Football Games   4 Lots

Lot 148.  1927 “Big Ten” Football Game Including the Rare Game Pieces. This game from the Sanwah Keen Game Co. of Stockton, CA, is extremely rare with the game pieces. The football, the Indicator Marker and the six pairs of dice are all present in the original cup in the original box. The dice have been used, but not abused. Numbers are missing from two sides of one die; otherwise, the game pieces are ex. The red and yellow box also is ex, as is the game board, which has a couple of stubbed corners. The 14 ½” x 20 ½” lithographed envelope that contains the board has the usual edge tears and small corner holes. The central image area displays well. The game pieces alone are worth more than our
Winning Bid $240.

Lot 149.  Scarce 1953 Ring Toss “Scrimmage Football for Fun” Game in Original Boxes. It’s doubtful that many of these delightful games survived. They come in relatively large boxes, and once the kids put them aside for a while, mom probably threw them out so that she have to deal with them while cleaning! While a complete list of contents does not come with the game, it appears to be near-complete. One of four rings is missing. The instructions, which occupy a 32” x 44” page, are present. So are the football “field,” one football, one end zone, one set of goal posts, 22 offensive players and eight defensive players. (The game is played with 11 players on offensive and four on defensive.) The game can be played with one end zone or two. It appears, then, that this game is complete except for one ring, one end zone and one set of goal posts. The rules are in fair condition. Everything else is ex or better. The game comes in two original boxes that are about 20 ½” x 25” x 3” deep. As its name suggests, this is one “fun” game produced by Big Time Games Co. and Ben Hodge Interprises (sic) of El Paso.
Winning Bid $200.

Lot 150.  Unopened 1965 and 1969 Cadaco “All- American Football” Games, 5 Other Games. Boxes for both 1960s Cadaco games area ex-m with the box bottom wrapped in Cellophane that appears to be original. For the 1965 game, the Cellophane remains intact. For 1969, it is torn in several places. For both games, contents apparently are unused, MINT and complete. The five other games are opened. Except as noted, contents appear to be complete but are not guaranteed. The earliest of the five is the 1942 Cadaco-Ellis “Varsity: The Scientific Football Game.” The lid has been repainted; the game board shows little evidence of use and is ex to ex-m. Two games are from the 1970s. The 1974 Tudor Games “National Football League Strategy,” Model No. 100, has nm contents with game cards and the “Playbook” still sealed in plastic. Durham’s 1979 “Pro Football” 19” high plastic pinball game is ex-m in a vg box. Generally, it works, although the rules are missing, and determining if everything works is impossible. The 1991 “Team NFL Trivia Blitz” game is nm in a vg-ex box. The computer disc and case for “Madden 97” are present in a vg box; some auxiliary components are probably missing.
Winning Bid $75.
