Lot 57. 10 1900s Pittsburgh Pirates and Federals Type Cards Including Caramel Cards. Some scarce examples including five “E” cards. 1. 1909 E101 “Set of 50” Gibson, superb image, f with a tiny spot of paper loss on the front and paper loss on the back that doesn’t affect the type. 2. 1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel #15 Leach, powerful image, “15” written in lower right front corner, otherwise a nice g-vg. 3. 1910 E91 Set C American Caramel Phillipi (Phillippe), f+, minor paper loss on back. 4. 1915 E145 Cracker Jack #118 Konetchy (Pittsburgh Federals), top left corner absent, tear on front, significant paper loss on back, image area displays nicely, p. 5. 1927 E126 American Caramel Series of 60 #1 Gooch, some back damage not affecting the type, f. 6. 1911 S74 Silk, colored version, Leifield, moderate scrapbook residue on the back and fraying at the top, otherwise vg. 7. 1909-11 T206 Leach (portrait), excellent color, powerful image, g. 8. 1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folder “Donlin Out At First” with Philippe and Gibson on the end panels. A heavy vertical crease in the middle of the card, not uncommon with this issue, f+ to g. 9. 1923 W515-1 #50 Maranville, tightly trimmed, sharp image, damage to the blank back, g-vg front as trimmed. 10. 1928 W513 #76 Grantham, well centered, moderate border chipping, clean front and back, f-g. A nice group for Pirates or vintage type collectors.
