Lot 174. Milwaukee Braves Cap Signed by Eddie Mathews. A member of the 500 Home Run Club, Mathews is an underappreciated member of the Hall of Fame. From 1952-59, he hit 299 home runs, more than anyone else in the majors. He twice led the National League in home runs, hit 512 homers lifetime and knocked in 1,453 runs. Mathews was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1978. He passed away in 2001. His signature is a large, bold gem mint 10 on the bill of a size 7 1/8 cap, made by American Needle and licensed by MLB.
