This collection of British cigarette cards, all different, includes Mary Astor (2 cards), Tallulah Bankhead, Constance Bennett, Joan Blondell (4), Evelyn Brent, Betty Bronson, Claudette Colbert (4), Dolores Costello, Bette Davis, Olivia De Havilland (2), Marlene Dietrich, Irene Dunne (2), Deanna Durbin, Kay Francis (3), Lillian Gish, Greta Garbo (5), Bonita Granville, Jean Harlow (2), Laura La Plante, Vivien Leigh (2), Carole Lombard (2), Myrna Loy (9), Jeannette MacDonald (3), May McAvoy, Polly Moran, Mae Murray, Anna Neagle (2), Pola Negri, Anna Q. Nilsson, Merle Oberon (3), Maureen O’Hara, Mary Pickford, Maureen O’Sullivan, Lilli Palmer, Eleanor Powell, Rosalind Russell (5), Norma Shearer (8), Barbara Stanwyck (3), Margaret Sullivan (2), Norma Talmadge, Alice Terry, Mae West, Claire Windsor, Fay Wray (3), Anna May Wong and Jane Wyatt. Seventy-five cards are in color. Most are the standard, smaller tobacco card issue, but some are larger. Twenty-six show the actress with an actor, and many of the photos are scenes from movies. Sets represented include: Abdulla 1934 “Stars of the Stage and Screen.” Ardath 1936 “Who Is This?” Carreras 1934“Film Stars.” 1935 “Famous Film Stars” and 1948 “Film Favourites.” Gallaher 1934 “Champions of Screen & Stage,” 1935 “Portraits of Famous Stars,” “Film Partners,” “Famous Film Scenes,” “Shots from Famous Films” and “Portraits of Famous Stars,” 1936 “Film Episodes” and 1939 “My Favourite Part.” Phillips 1934 “Film Stars” “Film Favourites” and “Shots from the Films,” 1935 “Stage and Cinema Beauties,” 1936 “Screen Stars” (embossed) and 1939 “Famous Love Scenes.” Player 1934, 1938 “Film Stars” Series 1-3. Rothman’s 1925 “Cinema Stars.” Wills 1928 and 1931 “Cinema Stars” Series 1 and 2. A. M. Wix 1940 (Max) “Cinema Cavalcade.” Approximately half of the cards are ex or better. The others are vg-ex or less.
