Lot 205. Framed New York Times 1920 Front Page Reporting on the Black Sox Scandal. In its lead article, the Times reports the indictment of eight Chicago White Sox players for fixing the 1919 World Series. According to the article, Al Cicotte admitted to taking $10,000, and Joe Jackson, $5,000 to throw the series. The news page is split horizontally, a small amount of text is missing from other articles, and there are chips along the edges. The final couple of words of the Black Sox article are affected. The pages is framed to 23” x 28 ¾”.
