Lot 5. Extremely RARE!! 1934-36 Batter-Up Premium of Wes. Ferrell. Only three or four of these cards are known. There are uncataloged and without an American Card Catalog (ACC) designation. Regular Batter-Up cards, of course, were designated “R318.” On the wrapper for the R318 issue, these cards, referred to as a “Large Photo Art Picture,” are offered for one cent. Produced using very thin paper, these blank-backed cards are 5” x 8” and printed in a reddish-brown color. This example featuring the six-time 20-game winner who starred for Cleveland and Boston has multiple light creases and several very small scuffs. It displays well and is very desirable because of its rarity.
