 Lot 238. 1894 Imperial Cabinet Photo Featuring Women Tennis Players. The 11” x 14” photo, apparently taken on the steps of a school, shows six young women – and one man – holding tennis racquets. The 14” x 17” mount is rough. The sepia photo is well focused, and it displays decent contrast. There are creases in the upper right and lower left, chips along the right edge, and a couple of other minor edge chips. Desirable vintage tennis photo that would display magnificently if matted and framed.

 Lot 239. Late 19th to Early 20th Century Photo of a Men’s Tennis Team. This 9 ½” x 11” photo on a 13” x 16” mount shows 11 young men, two holding trophies and a third, a tennis racquet. The mount may actually be a page from an oversized book. The surnames of the players are listed in pen on the mount. Three players wear jackets with the intials “OU,” which could signify Ohio University. The focus and contrast of the photo are outstanding. Nm photo on a vg-ex mount.
