Lot 349. Circa 1890 A6 Allen & Ginter “World’s Decorations” Album. More accurately and completely, this album is titled “50 Decorations of the Principal Orders of Knighthood and Chivalry of the World.” It contains artwork of 50 medals and awards given by various nations. The same artwork was used for the N30 and N44 card sets. Unlike many albums, each page is printed on both sides. The backs contain text describing the award. The U.S. is represented by the Badge of the Society of Cincinnati. Technically, the album is vg+ to vg-ex, but the grade doesn’t do it justice. Still held together by the original string, the pages are clean with a crease, generally outside the image area containing the cards, in the lower right corner and along the bottom edge. Lindner, Eddy & Clauss of New York is the lithographer.
