Lot 348. Circa 1888 A1 Allen & Ginter “Birds of the Tropics” Album. Harris Lithographers produced this 12-page album, including covers. The album contains the same ornate artwork of 50 tropical birds used for the N5 card set. This copy of the album is unusual because it is bound in a separate cover typically used by libraries. The album itself is complete. The lower right corner of the front cover has a crease that is reinforced on the inside with vintage tape. The back cover has some damage along an edge from the secondary binding. The inside pages tend to have creases along the spine and otherwise are ex. Overall, very clean and vg+ to vg-ex.
