Lot 138. 8 Yankee Stadium Postcards. The House the Ruth Built lives on in photographic images such as those used for these postcards. Six are pre-linen or very early linen. 1. “Yankee Stadium, New York,” one runner touching home, another rounding third base, Underwood & Underwood, vg++ to ex. 2-3. “Yankee Stadium, New York City,” essentially the same exterior view in both. The first, from Manhattan Card, has the title at the top center, a car in the foreground, and several people are shown. Vg+ to ex. The second, from C. T. American Art, has neither the car nor the people, and the title is at the left top. Postmarked 1929, vg+ to ex. 4-5. “Yankee Stadium, New York,” same exterior view, both with “24828.” The back of one identifies Haberman’s of Brooklyn as the source and the number “234,” while the other is from Haberman’s of Bronx with the number “125.” The first is ex with minor pencil writing erased from the otherwise unused back. The second is vg+ to ex. 6. “The Yankee Stadium, New York City,” aerial exterior, people arriving at or leaving the stadium, Manhattan Post Card, vg front, minor paper loss along the edges on the back. 7. “67A.-, Yankee Stadium, New York,” appears to be a real photo, same image as 2a above, vg+ to ex. 8.
