Lot 136. Collection of 6 Chicago White Sox Team and Stadium Postcards. White Sox squads for 1906 and 1947 are pictured. The 1906 photo, by F. P. Burke, includes Comiskey, Walsh and Altrock. Vg+ to ex, lightly addressed on the back in pencil to a Norway address. The 1947 real-photo postcard is ex-m; the emulsion is light along the edges. Ruffing, Faber, Lyons and Appling were team members. Two stadium postcards are pre-linen: “American League ‘Sox’ Ball Park Chicago,” #50631, from Max Rigot, view from left field, large man in right corner, nice vg+ to ex. And “South Side ‘White Sox’ Ball Park, Chicago,” No. 506, Franklin Post Card Co., 1913 postmark shows partly on the front, g-vg. Same photo as the previous, but zoomed in more. A linen card postmarked 1945 is titled “Comiskey Park, Chicago, Ill,,” #81A, Tichnor Bros., vg+ to ex. Also, a chrome postcard, view from behind home plate, ex+.
