Lot 135. 1910s “Root for the Yanks,” “My Cinderella Girl” Postcards, Comic Baseball PCs. In a postcard from the Parker-Brawner Co., a woman sits on a fence as a baseball game progresses in the background. Text below the woman exhorts the reader to “Root for ‘The Yanks’!” The woman holds a fan the says “Forty Thousand Tons!” Presumably, the fan refers to fertilizer production; an Indiana salesman is listed as a contact on the back. Attractive and desirable postcard, g-vg with a chip in the lower right corner; postmarked in 1913. A black & white postcard with a baseball scene promotes the 1910 play “My Cinderella Girl” at the Whitney Opera House in Chicago. Vg-ex.
