1969 Game 3 World Series Program - Baltimore at the “Miracle” New York Mets.
Lot 486. 1969 Game 3 World Series Program - Baltimore at the “Miracle” New York Mets. Led be a pair of unlikely heroes, the Mets, the team virtually nobody expected to win, upset the powerful Orioles in five games. Jerry Koosman won two games for New York, and Donn Clendenon was the Series MVP. Except for Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan, pitchers who had not yet reached the prime of their careers, the Mets were a collection of castoffs and unknowns. The Orioles fielded three future Hall of Fame members – Frank and Brooks Robinsons and Jim Palmer, and had such stars as Boog Powell, Paul Blair and Mike Cuellar. The 52-page program is partially scored in pen. Players for both teams are pictured with brief career summaries. The center-spread is a color photo of the Mets. Vg+ program. Accompanying the program is a 33 1/3 rpm record album, The Miracle Mets, with narration by Lindsey Nelson, Ralph Kiner and Bob Murphy. Mint record in an ex-m jacket.
Winning Bid $45.
