Players for each team are pictured with biographical sketches. Among them are Tony Conigliaro, Elston Howard, Jim Lonborg and Carl Yastrzemski for Boston and Lou Brock, Orlando Cepeda, Curt Flood, Bob Gibson, Tim McCarver, Roger Maris and Steve Carlton for St. Louis. Other Hall of Fame members pictured as executives or managers are Ted Williams, Tom Yawkey, Joe Cronin, Warren Giles, Walter O’Malley, Dick Williams, Bobby Doerr, Stan Musial and Red Schoendienst. Gibson was the Series MVP as the Cardinals ended the Red Sox’ “impossible dream” in seven games.
