Lot 358. 1928 Stevens-Davis “Men of America” Boxed Partial Set – 39 of 52. This set consists of 2 ½” x 4 1/8” eight-page pamphlets with biographical information on leading figures from a variety of fields. Stevens-Davis was located in Chicago. The pamphlets feature stunning color covers with black, white and a third color used inside. Besides the 39 different pamphlets, there are 21 duplicates, including some color variations. A two-page promotional brochure also is present. The pamphlets average vg-ex with a few less and many better. Subjects include Washington, Lindbergh, Franklin, Lincoln, Walter Camp, Will Rogers, Westinghouse, Orville Wright, Eastman, Firestone and De Mille. The pamphlets come in a special wood box made to look like a small box. It is titled “Men of America” on the cover with a stylized eagle over the title. Ex+.
