Lot 353. Sweet Caporal Box with 2 Intact 1900-02 T177 National Flags on Dominoes Cards. The outer box promotes Kinney Bros. and Sweet Caporal, recognizes Factory No. 30 of New York and has an 1898 tax stamp with a Dec. 1, 1900 overprint. This section of the box displays as vg with even soiling, creases along the side and a small indentation on the front. The tray inside makes this tobacco box very special. It is completely intact, with attached “Flags on Dominoes” cards of Brazil and Mexico. The Brazil flag is on the flap and grades g. The Mexico flag, which is on the bottom, would be at least ex if cut and removed. The card are blank-backed. BONUS: A small package of early 1900s apparently unopened Tip Top cigarette papers. Scarce and very collectible!
