Lot 10.  7 1935 Dixie Premiums + the Front and Back Covers! The seven performers are: Jackie Cooper, technically g-vg because the “5” was erased from the yellow border; otherwise, vg to vg+. Myrna Loy, very nice premium, vg because of a couple of ¼” or smaller edge tears. Ken Maynard, vg+ to ex. Dick Powell, vg-ex with an ex appearance. William Powell, technically vg+ to ex because of a paper wrinkle; displays as nm. Ginger Rogers, f-g with a small tear around a pin hole outside the image area. Norma Shearer, punch holes reinforced on the back; otherwise, vg+ to ex. The covers, titled My Scrapbook of Movie Stars, has light stress creases along the punch-hole edge of both covers, as well as two tiny areas of paper loss. Their appearance is ex+.

Lot 353.  Sweet Caporal Box with 2 Intact 1900-02 T177 National Flags on Dominoes Cards. The outer box promotes Kinney Bros. and Sweet Caporal, recognizes Factory No. 30 of New York and has an 1898 tax stamp with a Dec. 1, 1900 overprint. This section of the box displays as vg with even soiling, creases along the side and a small indentation on the front. The tray inside makes this tobacco box very special. It is completely intact, with attached “Flags on Dominoes” cards of Brazil and Mexico. The Brazil flag is on the flap and grades g. The Mexico flag, which is on the bottom, would be at least ex if cut and removed. The card are blank-backed. BONUS: A small package of early 1900s apparently unopened Tip Top cigarette papers. Scarce and very collectible!

Lot 354.  8 American Caramel Cards - 5 E49 Wild West and 3 E15 Flags. The Wild West cards, which grade p-f overall, represent one-quarter of the 20-card set. They are Chief Lone Wolf, Left Hand Bear, Always Riding, Shot in the Eye, and Yellow Hair. The three flags cards, f overall, are Argentine, Austro-Hungary and Netherlands.

Lot 356.  34 1911-12 T99 Sights and Scenes of the World Cards - 27 Different. More than one-half of the 50-card set. Included are the Tower of London, the Colosseum, they Pyramids, the Eifel Tower, the Grand Canyon, the London Bridge and the Wall of China. They average vg+ to ex with a handful vg or less and 10 ex or better.

Lot 357.  3 Different Vintage Tom Mix Cigar Box Labels. A star of early western movies, Mix was featured in more than 300 films between 1910 and 1935. These gorgeous labels feature powerful colors and exceptional period artwork. A navy blue background surrounds the raised portrait of Mix, who wears a red and gold scarf and white cowboy hat. This image appears on each label. The largest of the labels is 10 ¼” x 6 ¼”, and in raised bold red letters with gold border, “Tom Mix” appears below his portrait. Ex. The second label is about 4 ¼” x 5 ¼”. Mix’s portrait is inside a circle with a gold border on a black background. “Tom Mix” is in bold red letters with gold borders. The entire border of the label is also gold. An ex-m to nm stunner. The third label, about 2” x 2 ¾”, is vg-ex and in the shape of a sheriff’s badge. The border is gold and “Tom Mix” appears in bold white letters with gold border above his portrait.

Lot 358.  1928 Stevens-Davis “Men of America” Boxed Partial Set – 39 of 52. This set consists of 2 ½” x 4 1/8” eight-page pamphlets with biographical information on leading figures from a variety of fields. Stevens-Davis was located in Chicago. The pamphlets feature stunning color covers with black, white and a third color used inside. Besides the 39 different pamphlets, there are 21 duplicates, including some color variations. A two-page promotional brochure also is present. The pamphlets average vg-ex with a few less and many better. Subjects include Washington, Lindbergh, Franklin, Lincoln, Walter Camp, Will Rogers, Westinghouse, Orville Wright, Eastman, Firestone and De Mille. The pamphlets come in a special wood box made to look like a small box. It is titled “Men of America” on the cover with a stylized eagle over the title. Ex+.

Lot 359.  2 1930s British Card Sets, Vintage Postcard of King Edward VIII. . Both sets are attractive. 1. 1930 Art Treasures of the World Set of 24. Issued by Gallaher, these sepia cards feature famous works of art. Overall ex-m. 2. 1937 Builders of Empire Set of 50. J. Wix and Sons issued these cards with Kensitas cigarettes. Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria, Sir Walter Raleigh and many others are featured. Overall nm. There also is an unused sepia photo postcard of H.M. King Edward VIII, better known as the Duke of Windsor. Published by Van Dyk of London, the postcard is vintage, apparently from 1936, the only year in which King Edward was the British monarch. Ex+.

Lot 360.  13 1930s Dixie Lids Featuring Actors. The overall condition is ex to ex-m. Twelve of the 13 lids have tabs. Seven are from 1937, including Johnny Mack Brown, Madeleine Carroll, Jean Harlow, Myrna Loy, Fred MacMurray, Eleanor Powell and William Powell. From 1936, Tom Tyler. 1935: William Haines. 1934: Ken Maynard. 1933: Jackie Cooper, Walter Huston (no tab) and Robert Montgomery.

Lot 361.  300+ 1930s to Modern Cards Featuring Actors and Musicians. This compilation consists of television and motion picture actors along with musicians. 1. 45 Circa 1934 Canadian Rhodes “Actor” Cards. These 1 1/8” x 2 1/8” blue-tint cards printed on thick stock feature portraits of famous screen actors on the front and fortunes on the back. Gable, Fonda, Garland, Grable and Power are among the performers. Overall nm. 2. Circa 1950s German issue, seven color cards, about 2” x 2 ¾”, including two different poses of a young Brando. Also, Belafonte, Elizabeth Taylor, Autry, Lollobrigida and Brynner. Vg overall. 3. 30 Sepia Cards of Actors and Singers. These 4” x 5 5/8” cards, which are blank-backed, include Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, Monroe (4 different), Woody Allen, Diana Ross, Sinatra and Wayne. Nm-m overall. 4. 3 Lohmer’s Kaffe. These cards feature b & w photos on the front. Laughton p, Horne p, Winters f. 5. “Lloyd Zigaretten” card of Clark Gable-Jeanette MacDonald. Vg. 6. “Greiling-Zigaretten card of Gary Cooper, p-f. 7. 1992 Starline Hollywood Walk of Fame Set of 250. Includes numerous actors and singers. Nm-m overall.

Lot 366.  1943 Exhibit “Army Frolics” Complete Set of 32. Each card in this nm black and white set features soldiers in humorous drawing with captions. This exceptional set was produced during World War II.
