9 Early 1900s Postcards of England and the Isle of Man.
Lot 349. 9 Early 1900s Postcards of England and the Isle of Man. All are pre-linen with divided backs. Five appear to be from the 1910s. These color cards show the zoo in Manchester, Cartwright Memorial Hall in Bradford, the Leeds Post Office and City Square, the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and the Water Wheel at Groudle Glen. One of these cards is attributed to Horrocks & Co., and another is from Valentine’s. These five cards grade vg-ex; they show corner wear and are generally free of creases. Three cards with a similar design show scenes on the Isle of Mann: Laxey Gardens, g+ to vg and possibly postmarked 1911; the Groudle Glen Water Wheel (different from the card above), g-vg; and Port Soderick, vg. A sepia card postmarked 1938 captures the South Ambulatory of Westminster Abbey, vg+ to ex. Delightful collection.
Minimum Bid $20.
