Johnny Mize Autograph on the Sweet Spot of an ONL William D. White Baseball.
Lot 616. Johnny Mize Autograph on the Sweet Spot of an ONL William D. White Baseball. Mize was late to get his due, finally being inducted into the HoF in 1981. Like many others, his career was interrupted – and his “numbers” diminished - by military service. He led the National League in home runs in 1939 and 1940, tied Ralph Kiner in 1947 with 51 and finished his career with 359 homeruns. He holds the record for the most three-home run games – six. This Mize signature is an outstanding gem mint 10, with “The Big Cat” beneath his name, on a mint ball. Mize passed away in 2003. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $50.
