Lot 334. U.S. Navy Airplane Spotter Cards, Spotter Playing Cards, Defunct Airline Cards. This collection comprises 11 distinct sets (“decks”) of cards in their original boxes. Four Recognition Study Cards sets are from the U.S. Navy. Three showing “U.S. and Foreign Aircraft” have different “Device” numbers: 5E10B, 5E14B and 5E14H. The fourth set, Device 5E11A, features “National Military Aircraft Markings. These Navy cards are not playing cards. U.S. Games Systems is the source of three playing card sets: 1997 “Airplane Spotter…World War II,” “Naval Spotter…1940’s-1960’s” and “Facsimile of World Ward II Airplane Spotter.” Action Products produced a set of “WWII Spotter Cards.” There also are 20 cards from an unidentified set that has silhouettes of planes on one side and a paragraph of information on the other. Two decks of airline playing cards are from TWA. British Airways, which is still flying, also issued a set. Except for the 20 additional cards, these cards average nm. The condition of the boxes ranges from p-f to nm, with most ex or better.
