Hockey Cards, Memorabilia & Autographs   6 Lots

Lot 282.  Phil Esposito Hockey Skate Straps Unopened in the Original Package. Esposito was an NHL center for 18 seasons, from 1964-81. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984, and in 1987, the Boston Bruins retired his #7 jersey. His color photo in uniform with hockey stick in hands is featured on the 3 ½” x 4 ½” hang tag affixed to the package containing the skate straps. Text on the hang tag dates the straps at the end of the 1969-70 season. The Exter Company of Somerville, MA, produced the skate straps. A superb and scarce item with wonderful display potential.
Winning Bid $50.

Lot 283.  Pair of 16” x 20” Patrick Roy Autographed Photos – Avalanche and Canadiens. Roy split his 18-year career between the Montreal Canadiens and the Colorado Avalanche, winning two Stanley Cups with each team. Nicknamed “St. Patrick,” he is thought by many to be the best goaltender ever. He was elected to the HoF in 2006. 1. Roy in a Canadiens uniform, hoisting the Stanley Cup over his head. Sharpie 10 signature. 2. Roy in goal in an Avalanche uniform. Another sharpie 10 signature. The photographer, Grabowski, also signed. This photo is accompanied by a CoA from Steiner Sports. Each photo has very minor, inoffensive edge creases. Powerful presence in a size this large.
Winning Bid $55.

Lot 284.  Hockey Stick Signed by 12 1994-95 Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils. In one of hockey’s most memorable finals, the New Jersey Devils swept the heavily favored Detroit Red Wings, winning their first ever Stanley Cup Championship. Martin Brodeur was in goal for the Devils, and he has signed the Brodeur goalie stick offered here. Joining him in signing were Scott Stevens, Mike Peluso, Bobby Holik, Randay McKay, John MacLean, Claude Lemieux, Jim Dowd, and Bruce Driver. The autographs are 9s and 10s. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $100.

Lot 285.  Hockey Stick Signed by 29 1997-98 Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings. After winning their first Stanley Cup in 42 years in 1997, the Red Wings repeated as the champions of the hockey world in 1998. Prior to 1997, the Red Wings has last won the Stanley Cup in 1955. Among the signers of this Chris Osgood goalie stick from Hespeler are Osgood, Mathieu Dandenault, Kris Draper, Tom Holmstrom, Nicklas Lidstrom, Mike Knuble, Kirk Maltby, Larry Murphy, Bob Rouse, Doug Brown, Aaron Ward, Steve Yzerman, Wally Cressman, S. (Sergei) Federov, Brent Gilchrest, Brendan Shanahan and Scotty Bowman. Gem mint 10 and mint 9 signatures with many including the player’s number as well. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $163.

Lot 286.  Hockey Stick Signed by 10 1999-2000 Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils. Attractive Brpdeir black goalie stick manufactured by Heaton and signed by Brodeur, Petr Sykora, Scott Niedermayer, John Madden, Jason Arnott, Jay Pandolfo, Scott Gomez and Patrik Elias. These Devils defeated the Dallas Stars in six games to capture the team’s second Stanley Cup. The players signed in silver sharpie, and their autographs stand out boldly on the black stick. The signatures are 9s and 10s. The stick has a Steiner Sports hologram, and “11/24” indicates that it is part of a limited edition. Fantastic for display. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $100.

Lot 287.  5 Game-Used NHL Sticks: Odelein, Daigneault, Bellows, Keane, HoFer Steve Shutt. These five sticks are either professional Sher-Woods or Hespelers. Each exhibits good game use, with signs of wear and tape. Each has the name stamped on it, and in the case of Odelein, Daigneault and Keane, the number as well. 1. Lyle Odelein won the Stanley Cup with the Montreal Canadiens in 1993 but is better remembered for his temper and 2,316 career penalty minutes that place him 28th all-time. 2. J. J. Daigneault is perhaps best remembered for scoring the winning goal in the Philadelphia Flyers’ Game 6 victory in the 1987 Stanley Cup finals against Edmonton. 3. Brian Bellows has the distinction of being the youngest ever NHL team captain; he was named 1984 interim captain by the North Stars at 19 years and 4 months old. 4. Steve Shutt was an integral member of the famed Canadiens that went to the Stanley Cup championship round five times during the 1970s. He was named to the First All-Star team in 1977, 1978 and 1980. 5. Mike Keane is one of only eight players to win the Stanley Cup with three different teams - the Canadiens, Avalanche and Dallas Stars. Interesting collection of five game-used hockey sticks, especially valuable because of Shutt’s stick.
Minimum Bid $75.
