4 Government Postcards Signed by 1950s College Football Players.
Lot 704. 4 Government Postcards Signed by 1950s College Football Players. All signatures are strong on postcards canceled in the 1950s. The signers are Dan Foldberg of West Point; Bob “Zug” Zastrow of Navy; Bob Williams of Notre Dame, and Le Roy (Coke) Ka-ne, apparently of Dayton. Ka-ne’s signature is a nm-m 8. The others are 10s. An end, Foldberg finished eighth in the 1950 Heisman voting. A small photo of him is affixed to the postcard. Zastrow, whose signature is personalized, played quarterback for Navy. Williams a quarterback for Notre Dame, is in the College Hall of Fame. Personalized signature. The note that Ka-ne wrote is interesting: “Hi Bob: I am glad to have a faithful fan. The first game we played – I was a flop. But this next game with St. Bonaventure if you’ll pray for me I’ll make a touch-down.” Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $10.
