1960 Pittsburgh Pirates World Series “Ship” Pennant with Players’ Names Listed.
Lot 212. 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates World Series “Ship” Pennant with Players’ Names Listed. This full-sized 11 ½” x 29” pennant is rare and exceptionally nice. In white on a blue background, it features a pirate identified as “Murtaugh” on his hat making a scrawny player representing the American League walk the plank. Names of the 25 Pirates players appear on the mast of the ship, dubbed the“1960 World Series.” Surprisingly, all of the names are spelled correctly. The pennant identifies the pirates as the “National League Champs.” Ex-m to nm with some wear showing on the yellow stripe at the left. Wonderful and unusual.
Winning Bid $168.
