Lot 234. Autographs of Art and Dan Rooney, Pittsburgh’s Hall of Fame Father-Son Duo. Both Pittsburgh Steelers executives were enshrined at Cooperstown for their contributions to the development of pro football, Art (1901-88) in 1964, and son Dan in 2000. The signature of Art Rooney is on a Three Rivers Stadium envelope postmarked in 1980. Interestingly, Dan Rooney signed his father’s image in an 8” x 10” photo that pictures Art with his brother, Dan. Both played for the Wheeling Stogies of the Middle Atlantic League from 1920-25. Both Rooney signatures are 10. The photo and the envelope are matted to 12” x 16”. Outstanding for display!
