19th Century Tintype of a Man in a Boxing Pose.
Lot 182. 19th Century Tintype of a Man in a Boxing Pose. Well contrasted and nicely focused, this image of a man in long coat and hat with fists at the ready is well over 100 years old. Every aspect of this tintype is loaded with period charm, including the Victorian background. A “Bushnell’s Paperoid Wallet” made to accommodate it, and likely from the same period, is also included. Text on the wallet reads, “Compliments of the Citizens Banking Company, Oil City, Pa.” The bank opened its doors for business in 1884.
Winning Bid $68.
